Why I “do” history

Bianca and Erika as kids

Our first assignment for Intro to Historical Studies was to create a presentation on why we study history. I will be creating oral history podcasts for the Washington State Digital Archives this year as part of my grad student assistantship, so I chose to brush off my podcasting skills a bit and tell my story with audio only.

If anyone else is into podcasting, I’d love recommendations for a podcasting mic that’s under $150ish. In my former podcasting life, I used (and loved) a Blue Yeti, but I’ve since passed it on to a friend and now need a new one. Has anything better emerged in that price range?

The music on this podcast is a classic Afrikaans lullaby, Suikerbossie, performed by Ora Dreyer.
